Bucs Surge on Moving Day at General Hackler Championship

Pritchett is field's biggest mover as ETSU jumps five spots

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (Mar. 17, 2025) - "Moving day" is all anyone needed to say to Joshua Pritchett.

The redshirt sophomore fired a 3-under 69 and jumped a whopping 34 spots to lead ETSU on day two at the General James Hackler Championship at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach on Monday.

His round two score tied for the fifth lowest of the day and one of 18 rounds below 70 out of a possible 180 at The Dunes so far this week. After five straight pars to start the second round, the redshirt sophomore eagled the par-5 15th - his fourth big-bird this season and first in the spring. From there, he remained steady, with birdies on the 17th, 4th, and 8th, and his only blemishes coming on the par-4 18th and 6th holes. His surge brought him back to 1-over par for the tournament, good for a tie for 29th.

Senior Kristian Bressum rose seven spots to a tie for 17th with a 1-under 71, remaining ETSU's top performer through 36 holes. He capped his round with a birdie on the 7th hole, one of just 11 players to capture a birdie on that hole and one of 11 players below par on all par-4s at The Dunes this week.

Yannick Malik, Gavin Tiernan, and Ben Carberry all posted 2-over 74s on Monday, leaving Malick and Tiernan at 4-over for the tournament and Carberry at 5-over.

As a team, the Bucs rose five spots to a three-way tie for sixth with NC State and hosts Coastal Carolina at 7-over par. #1 Auburn has a commanding lead on the field heading into the final day at 14-under.

ETSU will start the final round on Tuesday at 8:10 am, teeing off on the front nine for the first time this week alongside NC State and Kent State
