JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 6, 2025) – A day following National Signing Day for high school student-athletes, the ETSU football team announced that it has added 22 transfers to its roster for the 2025 season.
"We won several recruiting battles against Power Four programs for guys that want to come here and win, which is a testament to this place and the success from years past," said ETSU Head Coach
Will Healy. "That competition, which includes guys that have done so at the highest levels, will only make us better. I believe every student-athlete we brought in has the capacity to be in the mix for a starting job at their respective position. I'm also excited about how these new guys have already been accepted into our program by the players that were already here. All of these guys will not only be great players on the field but also excellent ambassadors for our program and our University."
Jason Albritton | Running Back | 5-9 | 220 | Lithia, Fla. |Newsome High School | USF | Ole Miss
- Has played for USF and Ole Miss during his collegiate career.
- Albritton has appeared in 18 games (12 at Ole Miss, six at USF) in his collegiate career.
- Averaged 4.83 yards per carry in those 18 games.
- At Newsome High School, Albritton has ran for 3,927 yards and 42 touchdowns and went over 100 yards rushing 18 times.
- Also lettered in wrestling and track & field in high school.
Brian Alston | Defensive Lineman | 6-2 | 264 | Birmingham, Ala. | Spain Park High School | Arkansas State
- Comes to Johnson City after spending the last two seasons at Arkansas State.
- Alston was a three-star recruit by 247 Sports, On3, ESPN and Rivals coming out of Spain Park High School.
- Rated as the 32nd-best player in the state of Alabama as a senior according to ESPN and came in at No. 109 in their national defensive end rankings.
- Selected to play in the AHSAA North-South All-Star Football Game
- Had offers from power conference teams such as Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State and West Virginia coming out of high school.
Charlie Browder | Tight End | 6-7 | 255 | Kingsport, Tenn. | Christ School (N.C.) | UCF | Tennessee
- Returns to the Tri-Cities area after spending time at both UCF and Tennessee.
- Has seen action in 11 college games with two catches and 10 yards in 2023 for the Volunteers.
- A 2023 Fall SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll recipient.
- Rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports and Rivals and starred for Christ School in Arden, North Carolina. Earned second team all-state honors at tight end as a senior. Grew up in Kingsport, Tennessee, and attended to Dobyns Bennett High School as a freshman and sophomore.
- His father Marty played quarterback at Emory & Henry, while his brother Jack plays basketball for Carson-Newman.
Kaven Call | Defensive End | 6-3 | 240 | Apopka, Fla. | Apopka High School | UCF
- Joins the Bucs after two seasons at UCF where he played 16 games and totaled three tackles.
- Named the top prospect in the Orlando Sentinel Super 60 for 2023.
- Helped Apopka to the State Championship game in three of his four seasons.
- As senior, Call totaled eight sacks, recovered three fumbles, forced a fumble and blocked two kicks.
- Was especially disruptive during his freshman season when he totaled 60 tackles (16 for loss) and 15 sacks.
Jonathan Cline | Offensive Lineman | 6-4 | 315 | Cartersville, Ga. | Cartersville High School | UCF
- Spent the last two seasons at UCF.
- Went to UCF after starting at left tackle for Cartersville High School in Cartersville, Georgia.
- Helped their offense average 37.4 points, 198 rushing yards per game and score 45 rushing touchdowns.
- Named first-team offensive lineman on Region 7-5A team in 2022.
- Competed in track and field as well in high school and was a regional qualifier in 2021 in both shot put and discus.
Jacolby Criswell | Quarterback | 6-1 | 230 | Morrilton, Ark. | Morrilton High School | Arkansas | North Carolina
- Veteran signal caller joins ETSU after spending time at both Arkansas and North Carolina.
- For his college career, Criswell has appeared in 31 games, completed 221 of 378 passes (58.5%), totaled 19 touchdown passes, ran for four more scores.
- His best season came last fall, which he was UNC's primary starter at quarterback, when he completed 186 of 320 pass attempts for 2,459 yards and 15 touchdowns against six interceptions.
- Criswell was a four-star prospect, the No. 2 player in Arkansas and the nation's 11th-ranked dual-threat quarterback in the 247Sports Composite coming out of high school.
- Passed for 5,925 yards and 58 TDs, while rushing for 2,568 yards and 41 TDs over his three-year prep career at Morrilton High School.
Jackson Crosby | Wide Receiver | 5-10 | 185 | Six Mile, S.C. | D.W. Daniel High School | Clemson
- Crosby transfers to ETSU after spending the last four seasons at Clemson.
- The Six Mile, S.C. native appeared in nine games, caught two passes for 25 yards during his time with the Tigers.
- Was an ACC Honor Roll selection in 2021.
- Played quarterback and wide receiver in high school, recording 787 career passing yards and nine passing touchdowns, 67 career receptions for 852 yards and 12 touchdowns, and 250 career rushing yards with five touchdowns.
- Named South Carolina 3A Offensive Back of the Year and collected All-State and All-Region honors as a senior.
Chris Davis Jr. | Defensive End | 6-3 | 235 | Tampa, Fla. | Armwood High School | Georgia State
- Davis Jr. comes to Johnson City after spending the last four seasons at Georgia State.
- During his time with the Panthers, Davis Jr. appeared in 27 games and totaled 11 tackles and a sack.
- Named to the Sun Belt Conference Honor Roll in 2021 and 2022, the Dean's List in 2021 and the Athletic Director's Spring Honor Roll after the spring semesters in 2022 and 2024.
- First-team all-conference selection at linebacker for Armwood High School and made 46 tackles as a senior with 22 tackles for loss, including 13 sacks during that season.
- Collected 21 sacks and 34 tackles behind the line of scrimmage in his high school career.
Jason Duclona | Defensive Back | 6-1 | 185 | Estero, Fla. | Estero High School | UCF | Liberty
- Comes to ETSU after spending time at both Liberty and UCF.
- Played cornerback and receiver at Estero High School in Estero, Florida.
- Made 33 tackles, six pass breakups, intercepted two passes and blocked a punt in 2022.
- Led team with 23 pass receptions for 520 yards and seven touchdowns as senior, leading team in receiving as both senior and junior.
- Also competed in basketball—scoring more than 1,000 career points--and track and field where he was a regional qualifier in both long and triple jump in high school.
Ashton Flinn | Offensive Lineman | 6-4 | 290 | Jackson, Mo. | Jackson High School | Murray State
- Flinn brings with him 32 games of college experience after spending the last three seasons at Murray State.
- Was a teammate of fellow Buc Eric Ruess at Murray State.
- Helped his high school go 50-3 during his time with the program.
- Jackson High School was the Missouri State 5A runner-up in 2019, State Champion in 2020 and a semifinalist in 2021.
- Named SEMO Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2020 and 2021.
Drew Francis | Linebacker | 6-3 | 228 | Knoxville, Tenn. | West High School | Middle Tennessee State
- Francis comes to ETSU with a wealth of experience at the collegiate level with 49 games played at Middle Tennessee State.
- During his time in Murfreesboro, Francis totaled 99 career tackles, three sacks, broke up two passes and forced two fumbles.
- Rated a three-star recruit by 247Sports and the No. 32 prospect in Tennessee coming out of High School.
- Earned all-state honors and was tabbed the Region 3-5A Player of the Year in high school as well.
- Recorded 52 tackles, including 21 for loss of yards and 4.5 sacks as a senior.
Ki'Shawn Harvey | Defensive Lineman | 6-1 | 312 | Raleigh, N.C. | Knightdale High School | Western Kentucky
- Transfer from Western Kentucky.
- Harvey redshirted in 2023 and did not see any game action in 2024.
- Harvey prepped at Knightdale High School in Raleigh, N.C.
- He was given a 5.3 rating by Rivals and ranked as a two-star recruit.
- Harvey originally picked WKU over interest from East Carolina, Georgia Southern and North Carolina State.
Wesley Horton | Offensive Lineman | 6-3 | 306 | Atlanta, Ga. | North Atlanta High School | Western Kentucky
- Horton is another transfer from Western Kentucky.
- The Atlanta native played 26 games during his time with the Hilltoppers and started 10 games in 2023.
- A 2024 Athlon Sports Preseason All-CUSA Fourth Team selection.
- In high school, Horton recorded 59 tackles (13.5 for loss) and 7.5 sacks.
- Originally chose WKU over Charlotte, Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Georgia Southern, Liberty and Samford.
Cole Keller | Wide Receiver/Tight End | 6-5 | 230 | Grain Valley, Mo. | Grain Valley High School | Washburn
- Transfer from Washburn University (Division II).
- Played 19 games for the Ichabods during his time with the program.
- Caught 25 passes for 295 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
- Multiple MIAA Academic Honor Roll honoree.
- 2700 all-purpose yards scoring 36 total touchdowns earning league player of the year honors as well as team player of the year and the Examiner player of the year honors picking up all-state, all-area, all-district and all-conference honors as a senior.
Cade McNamara | Quarterback | 6-1 | 205 | Reno, Nev. | Damonte Ranch High School | Michigan | Iowa
- McNamara joins ETSU after being the starting quarterback at Michigan and Iowa.
- Prior to the 2024 season, McNamara was nominated for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, Comeback Player of the Year Award, and Senior Bowl preseason Watch Lists.
- Has thrown for over 4,700 yards and 31 touchdowns in 31 collegiate games.
- Was the starting quarterback at Michigan in 2021 and helped the Wolverines win the Big 10 Championship on their way to a College Football Playoff appearance.
- An ESPN four-star prospect, rated the No. 13 pro-style quarterback, No. 257 overall prospect in the country and top player in Nevada coming out of high school.
Trevor Moffitt | Linebacker | 6-1 | 225 | Bushnell, Fla. | South Sumter High School | Appalachian State | Gardner-Webb
- Transfers to the Bucs after spending time at both Appalachian State and Gardner-Webb.
- Played in 27 games during his collegiate career with 73 total tackles.
- Also has 10.5 tackles for loss and five sacks with App State and GWU.
- A 2024 All-Big South/OVC Second Team honoree.
- Was rated as a three-star prospect at 247Sports.com.
Raymari Oggs | Defensive Back | 5-10 | 180 | Mansfield, Texas | Mansfield Lake Ridge High School | Southwest Baptist | Northeastern Oklahoma A&M
- Oggs transfers to ETSU after spending time at both Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and Southwest Baptist.
- Last season at NE Oklahoma A&M, Oggs played in two games and finished with eight tackles and added a forced fumble and recovered one as well.
- During his first season of college football in 2023, Oggs played in eight games for Southwest Baptist.
- He finished the season with 14 tackles, one pass breakup and two interceptions.
Isaiah Potts | Defensive Lineman | 6-1 | 305 | Fayetteville, N.C. | Pine Forest High School | Charlotte | Campbell
- Comes to Johnson City after spending time at both Charlotte and Campbell.
- Played in nine games last season for Campbell and totaled 17 tackles (three for loss), one sack and recovered a fumble.
- Rated as a three-star recruit from 247Sports and a two star by Rivals as a senior in high school.
- Named second team All-State as a senior.
- A three-time All-Conference player as a prep.
D'Marius Rucker | Running Back | 5-9 | 193 | Lakeland, Fla. | Lakeland High School | Coastal Carolina
- Transfers to the Bucs from Coastal Carolina.
- Rated as a three-star recruit by On3, 247Sports, and ESPN.
- Tabbed as the No. 71 running back in the class of 2024 by On3 and 247Sports.
- Was the leading rushing on the 2022 state championship team for Lakeland High School.
- Set program playoff record with 351 rushing yards in one game.
Colin Rutland | Tight End | 6-7 | 240 | Reston, Va. | South Lakes High School | Youngstown State
- Joins ETSU after spending the 2024 season with Youngstown State.
- As a senior at South Lakes High School, Rutland totaled 335 yards receiving and hauled in three touchdowns.
- A first team All-District selection as a senior as well.
- Named to the All-District team two other times in high school.
- A member of a district championship-winning team.
Taharian Sudderth | Tight End | 6-2 | 239 | Alcoa, Tenn. | Alcoa High School | Middle Tennessee State
- Has played in 32 career games with Middle Tennessee State.
- During his time at MTSU, Sudderth caught five passes for 25 yards and made five tackles on special teams.
- Named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State team.
- Also earned Region 2-3A all-region team honors and was on the Knoxville News Sentinel All-Prepextra second team
- Helped lead Alcoa to four straight state championships
Kendall Williams | Defensive Back | 5-11 | 180 | Winston-Salem, N.C. | West Forsyth High School | Carson-Newman
- Williams comes to ETSU after spending the last four seasons at Carson-Newman.
- He played 35 games for the Eagles and racked up 155 total tackles, 36 total pass breakups, seven interceptions, five-and-a-half sacks, and forced one fumble.
- Williams was a two-sport athlete in football and track in high school (West Forsyth).
- Williams recorded four interceptions with 22 pass break ups throughout his prep career.
- Multiple time All-Conference selection.
