LEXINGTON, Va. (Feb. 27, 2025) – A winter's worth of work pays off over two days when the ETSU women's track & field team competes in the 2025 SoCon Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday and Saturday at the Corps Physical Training Facility on the campus of VMI.

Location: Corps Physical Training Facility (CPTF), Lexington, Va.
Time: The women's pentathlon begins at 9:15am with the 60m hurdles up first. Section B of the women's 3000m formally kicks off the championships at 1:05pm on Friday. Field events begin at 2:00pm Friday with the women's long jump.

MEET NOTES
-This is the seventh edition of the SoCon Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Corps Physical Training Facility (CPTF) and the 12th time VMI has hosted the event overall.
-On the track, freshman
Micailah Cook has posted competitive times this season in the 60 meter and 200 meter sprint and has a top-three best time in the SoCon in the 400 meter with a 56.73 posted at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational in Lynchburg, Virginia, on February 14th.
-In the field, Senior
Tya Blake has the second-best mark in the SoCon this season in the triple jump (39'1.25") and the seventh-best mark in the long jump (17'10.75"). Freshman
Akera Molette looks to make waves in the high jump, with the third-best mark in the SoCon (5'5") entering championship weekend.
Lexi Carter will feel right at home in the shot put, having set the second-best distance in the SoCon (43'4.5") in the CPTF during the VMI Invitational on January 24th.
-Samford is the favorite to repeat as SoCon women's indoor track & field champions in 2025. The Bulldogs have won a SoCon record nine consecutive championships, including all seven events held at the CPTF. ETSU's last SoCon team title came in 1995 at the Mini-Dome.
