Bucs down UNC Asheville, 4-1

ETSU collects its second straight win in Wednesday’s victory

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 26, 2025) – The ETSU men's tennis team collected its second consecutive win on Wednesday as the Buccaneers knocked off UNC Asheville by a score of 4-1. With Wednesday's victory, the Bucs improve to 3-4 on the 2025 spring campaign.

ETSU secured the doubles point for the third consecutive match on Wednesday thanks to wins from its No. 1 and 3 doubles pairings. Peter Kalocsai and Martin Garcia-Ripoll shut out Asheville's top doubles tandem, 6-0, while Pedro Cressoni and James Sim picked up a 6-2 victory to give the Bucs the first point of the contest.

Asheville's Freddy Murray won in No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-0 to get the Bulldogs on the board but that was where their comeback stalled. Victories from Pedro Cressoni, Juan Andres Listo and Carlos Gonzales helped ETSU clinch a 4-1 win over the Bulldogs. For Cressoni, he improves to 5-2 on the season and has won five straight singles matches.
