ELON, N.C. (Feb. 21, 2025) – Playing in the state of North Carolina for the third time in its last four matches, the ETSU men's tennis team was edged out by Elon on Friday by a score of 4-3. Friday's loss moves ETSU's record to 1-4.
 
Friday's tilt began well for the Bucs by capturing the doubles point. Juan Andres Listo and Francisco Lamas won their match 6-4 as did Pedro Cressoni and James Sim won theirs by a 6-3 final tally. It marks the first time in five matches that the Bucs have earned the doubles point.
 
After doubles, the Phoenix rebounded promptly and won the next four points to clinch the match. Carlos Gonazles (4-6, 6-4, 6-4) and Cressoni (6-7, 7-6, 11-9) won both of their singles matches for the Blue and Gold to close out the contest. For Cressoni, it was his third consecutive singles win to boost his spring record to 3-2.

The Bucs will be back in action on Sunday when they open a four-match homestand against Lipscomb. The start time for Sunday's tilt is set for 1 p.m.
