Men's Basketball Signs Colt Busse

Baltimore area guard commits future to Bucs after breakout junior season

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 13, 2025) – ETSU men's basketball has one in the bank in the 2026 recruiting class.

The Bucs signed 6'4" guard Colt Busse of Baltimore, Maryland, at the opening of the national signing period on Wednesday.

"We're excited to add Colt to our program" said Head Coach Brooks Savage. "He comes from a great program at Archbishop Spalding. He is a serious, tough-minded player, loves college basketball, is really hard working, and is only starting to scratch the surface of how good he can be. Colt can really pass and shoot and has a good understanding of the game. He is a high achiever and will be a good fit on and off the floor here at ETSU."

The left-handed guard took a big step forward for Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn, Maryland, last season. He averaged 11 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in his breakout junior year for the Cavaliers in 2024-25, shooting 42% from the field and 40% from three on his way to the Baltimore Catholic League's Most Improved Player award. Busse scored 15 or more points in 12 games and 20 or more in eight of 33 games in his junior year, including five straight games with 20 or more on his way to All-Anne Arundel County and Baltimore All-Metro honors.
