Wake Forest blanks ETSU, 7-0

Bucs will face Virginia Tech on the road next Sunday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Jan. 20, 2025) – The ETSU women's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision on the road at Wake Forest on Monday afternoon. Monday's loss moves ETSU's record to 0-2 on the spring season.
 
The Demon Deacons clinched the doubles point with wins by scores of 6-4 and 6-2. ETSU's tandem of Daniela Rivera and Alessandra Caceres were winning their match, 6-5, when Wake Forest clinched the doubles portion of the match.
 
In singles, Wake Forest won all six tilts in two sets. Ralitsa Alexandrova did force her first frame to extra points but ultimately fell, 7-6 (9-7) and 6-1. Ksenija Rage also nearly won her match dropping a close decision by identical 7-5 final scores.

ETSU will face off against another ACC opponent next Sunday as it travels to take on Virginia Tech. First serve between the Bucs and Hokies is set for 1 p.m.
