Bressum finishes tied for sixth in Chicago

CHICAGO (Sept. 30, 2024) – ETSU transfer Kristian Bressum registered his ninth career top-10 finish – his first as Buccaneer – as he placed tied for sixth at the Windon Memorial Classic on Monday from Conway Farms Golf Club.
 
Bressum strung together three rounds of par or better in the Windy City as the St. Mary's transfer finished tied for sixth at 3-under-par 210 (71-69-70). For the tournament, Bressum totaled 12 birdies, including six in his final round.
 
Marquette's Patrick Alder won the individual crown with a 54-hole score of 11-under-par 202. Alder won by five strokes as Arizona's Tiger Christensen finished 6-under-par 207.
 
Arizona held off Marquette for the team title as the 13th-ranked Wildcats won by three shots over the Golden Eagles. Arizona posted a team score of 10-under-par 842. Arizona and Marquette were the only schools in the 16-team field to register a team score below par for the tournament.
 
ETSU moved up three spots on Monday to finish 11th with a team score of 29-over-par 881. The Bucs shot a 1-over 285 in today's third round.
 
Freshman Charl Barnard carded his lowest round of the tournament in round three as he shot a 1-over 72 and finished 32nd at 6-over-par 219. Arizona transfer Yannick Malik also posted his lowest round on Monday with an even-par 71 en route to moving 11 spots up the leaderboard at 11-over-par 224. Freshmen Jake Potter and Gavin Tiernan also posted a 1-over 72 in the final round.
ETSU returns to the course on Friday, Oct. 18 when the Bucs play in the prestigious Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate.
