CHESTERFIELD, Va. (Sept. 29, 2024) – The ETSU women's triathlon team continued its stellar season on Sunday with a sweep of both the team and individual titles at the Robious Landing Triathlon in Chesterfield, Virginia. Freshman
Julia Visgueiro paced the field with an overall time of 57:46.28 to claim her second individual victory in three races.
Visgueiro was joined in the top five finishers with three other Bucs in
Emily Coonce (2
nd – 57:53.38),
Abby Church (4
th – 59:01.05) and
Sarah Plant (5
th – 59:17.03).
Mia Remorca (10
th – 1:00:15.63),
Delaney Hammill (1:02:51.04) and
Layla Woods (43
rd – 1:08:23.84) also competed for ETSU on the day. Overall, seven Bucs competed on Sunday and six of the seven finished in the upper half of finishers.
On the team leaderboard, the Bucs had a score of 378 followed by Wingate (347), Duquense (322), Navy (300) and Delaware State (255). ETSU also won the season-opening ETSU Aquathlon late last month.
The Bucs will be back in action on October 12 at the East Regional Qualifier in Troutman, North Carolina.
