SAN ANTONIO, Texas (Sept. 23, 2024) – The ETSU men's golf team wrapped up its second tournament of the fall season on Monday as the Buccaneers finished final round play at the Valero Texas Collegiate from TPC San Antonio Oaks Course.
Kristian Bressum paced the Blue & Gold as the Buccaneer newcomer finished tied for 35th at 1-over-par 217. Bressum, who transferred from St. Mary's this summer, played the final 36 holes at one-under as he shot an even-par 72 on Monday. Bressum opened today's round with nine straight pars before carding two birdies, five pars and two bogeys over his final nine holes en route to jumping seven spots up the leaderboard.
Virginia's Ben James won the individual crown in a playoff over Auburn's Josiah Gilbert. James fired a 6-under 66 on Monday to jump into the lead at 12-under-par 204 for the tournament. With the win, James earned an exemption into the 2025 Valero Texas Open.
Oklahoma rallied to win the team title at 30-under-par 834. The eighth-ranked Sooners defeated No. 12 Ole Miss by six shots and No. 1 Auburn by 11 strokes.
ETSU finished tied for 13th at 27-over-par 891.
The Bucs return to the course on Sunday as the Bucs play in the Windon Memorial Classic in Chicago.
