O’Callaghan releases 2024-25 men’s golf schedule

Bucs open season Sept. 6 in Knoxville

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 27, 2024) – First-year ETSU men's golf head coach Aaron O'Callaghan released on Tuesday the Buccaneers' 2024-25 schedule. The Bucs will play in 11 tournaments between the fall and spring campaigns, sending the Blue & Gold from Knoxville to Texas and from Hawaii to South Carolina.

ETSU, who has made four straight NCAA Championship appearances, opens the Coach O'Callaghan era on Sept. 6 as the Bucs stay in state for the Visit Knoxville Invitational, held at Tennessee National.

Following the fall opener, the Blue & Gold make the trek to San Antonio for the Valero Texas Collegiate, which will be played at TPC San Antonio from Sept. 21-23. Six days later, the Bucs head to the Windy City for The Windon, played at Conway Farms Golf Club in Chicago.

ETSU's final two fall tournaments send the Bucs to Atlanta for the prestigious Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, scheduled to be played Oct. 18-20, while the fall finale is the Ka'anapali Classic in Maui on Nov. 2-4 – one of three tournament wins for the Bucs last season.

After a two-month break, the Bucs begin spring play in Johns Island, S.C. as ETSU plays in the Battle of Briar's Creek on Feb. 3-4.

Following a month layoff, ETSU will gear up for three tournaments in March, starting with the Colleton River Collegiate in Bluffton, S.C. from March 2-3. The Bucs remain in the Palmetto State as they play in the General Hackler Championship from March 16-18 in Myrtle Beach, S.C., while closing out the month at The Hootie at Bulls Bay in Charleston from March 23-25. ETSU has won two of the last three Hootie at Bulls Bay tournaments.

Prior to defending its crown at the Southern Conference Championship, ETSU will make its final tune-up at the Augusta Haskins Invitational at Forest Hill Golf Club the weekend of April 5-6. The SoCon Championship will once again be held in Greensboro, Ga., at Reynolds Golf Club from April 20-22. The Blue & Gold have won the last four conference titles and will be looking to become first team since 1979-83 to win five straight titles. ETSU was the last school to accomplish that feat.

The NCAA Regionals will be held May 12-14, while the Bucs will be gunning for their fifth straight trip to the NCAA Championships, again held at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa from May 23-28. Last season, ETSU finished 12th at the NCAA Championship, marking its best finish since 2001.
