ETSU Athletics announces 2024 Hall of Fame Class

Ceremony to be held Friday, Oct. 11 at the Martin Center

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (July 24, 2024) – The East Tennessee State University Athletics Department announced on Wednesday its 2024 Hall of Fame class.
 
Four Buccaneers make up the 2024 class, which includes Shelli Clendenon (women's track and field), Rhys Davies (men's golf), Megan Devine (volleyball) and Courtney Pigram (men's basketball).
 
The ETSU Athletics Hall of Fame features 135 Buccaneers (including this year's class) and was founded in 1976.
 
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on Friday, Oct. 11 inside the ETSU Foundation Grand Hall at the Martin Center. Tickets to the ceremony are $30 and can be purchased at ETSUTickets.com
 
Below are bios on each inductee.
 
Shelli Clendenon – ETSU Women's Track & Field
Earned All-American honors in 1995 … 1995 SoCon Most Outstanding Athlete (indoor) … 1995 SoCon Champion in 200m (indoor) … 1992, 1993 and 1995 SoCon champion in high jump (indoor) – one of five SoCon athletes to win the event three times … 1995 SoCon champion in long jump (indoor) … 1994 and 1995 SoCon champion in high jump (outdoor) … School record holder in the heptathlon (5,306 points) … Member of ETSU's 1995 SoCon Indoor Championship team (only team to win a SoCon indoor title) … Member of the SoCon 100th anniversary team.
 
Rhys Davies – Men's Golf
Was ranked No. 1 in the country in 2006-07 … Ranked No. 3 in the country in 2004-05 … ETSU career record holder in wins with 10 (50 tournaments played) … Single-season school record holder in wins with five in 2004-05 … Three-time first team PING All-American … 2005 SoCon Player of the Year … 2006 and 2007 ASUN Player of the Year … 2005 SoCon Champion … 2004 SoCon Freshman of the Year … Four-time all-conference selection (two SoCon/two ASUN) … Recorded 92 rounds of par or better for his career (149 rounds played) … Counted is his score in 138 of the 149 rounds played … All-time leader in birdies (556) … Career scoring average of 71.19 ranks second-most in program history … Led the Bucs to the 2005 SoCon Championship and 2007 ASUN Championship … Led the Bucs to appearances in the NCAA Championship in 2006 and 2007 … Holds three of the top five scoring average marks in program history – 70.23 in 2007, 70.79 in 2006, 70.54 in 2005.
 
Megan Devine – Volleyball
Named AVCA All-American in 2013 … 2012 ASUN Player of the Year … 2012 ASUN Tournament MVP … 2010 ASUN Freshman of the Year … Three-time all-ASUN selection … Four-time ASUN all-tournament team selection … Five-time ASUN Player of the Week recipient … Four-time ASUN all-academic selection … ETSU career record holder in total kills (1,940) and attack attempts (5,650) … Ranks second all-time in kills per set (3.91) … Ranks fifth all-time in total digs (1,472) … Played in 139 sets in 2012, which is tied for the all-time single-season record … Single-season leader in kills per set (4.49, 2013) … Holds the second spot among single season record holders in kills per set with 4.16 in 2011 … Led the Bucs to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2012 … ASUN Tournament Champion in 2012 … ASUN Regular Season Champion in 2013 … ASUN career leader in kills (1,940) and ranks sixth among career ASUN leaders in kill average (3.89) … Ranks sixth and seventh among single-season ASUN leaders in kills with 547 in 2012 and 530 in 2013 … Had 322 kills in conference play in 2013, which is the all-time single-season ASUN record, while her 291 in 2012 are fifth.
 
Courtney Pigram – Men's Basketball
Named AP All-American Honorable Mention in 2007 … 2007 ASUN Player of the Year … 2006 ASUN Freshman of the Year … Three-time all-ASUN selection and three-time ASUN All-Tournament Team … Led the Bucs to the 2009 ASUN Tournament Title and NCAA Tournament appearance … Led the Bucs to the 2007 ASUN regular season title and an NIT appearance … Third-ranked scorer in program history with 2,043 points … One of two Buccaneers with a triple-double – 21 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists vs. Wingate on Nov. 20, 2008 … Made 739 field goals, which ranks third-most in school history … Program career leader in three-pointers made with 276 … Ranks third all-time in assists with 416 … Ranks fourth all-time in steals with 232 … Played in 127 career games – tied for the eighth-most by a Buccaneer … Totaled 4,049 minutes played, ranking fourth all-time … Scored 614 points in 2006-07, ranking 10th in program history … Netted 86 made threes in 2006-07, ranking seventh in school history … His 138 assists in 2008-09 ranks 10th among Buccaneer single-season leaders … Registered 89 steals in 2006-07, which ranks fifth … Played 1,183 minutes in 2008-09, ranking third, while his 1,141 minutes in 2006-07 is tied for eighth … Led the Bucs in scoring in 2006-07 (18.1) and in 2007-08 (15.8) … Led the team in assists in 2006-07 (127), 2007-08 (109) and 2008-09 (138) … Led the team in steals in 2006-07 (89) … Scored a career-high 39 points against Jacksonville on Jan. 3, 2009 – tied for the 11th highest scoring game in school history … Made 10 threes vs. Mercer (Feb. 28, 2009) – ranks second-most by a Buc … Dished out 18 assists vs. Mercer on Feb. 24, 2007, which is the second-most ever by a Buccaneer.
