CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (May 12, 2024) – The ETSU men's golf team begins its quest for a fourth straight NCAA Championship appearance as the 21st ranked Buccaneers open play in the Chapel Hill Regional on Monday from Finley Golf Club.
The Bucs, who are making their fourth straight regional appearance and 26th trip in program history, won the Southern Conference Championship last time out in Greensboro, Ga. The Blue & Gold collected their third tournament win of the season, while
Mats Ege and Matty Dodd-Berry earned co-medalist honors at the conference championship.
ETSU is the No. 4 seed in this week's regional in Chapel Hill.
The top five teams of the regional and low individual from a non-advancing team will advance to the NCAA Championship. ETSU will be looking to play in its fourth straight NCAA Championship with this year's field set to play at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa from May 24-29 in Carlsbad, Calif.
Last year, ETSU finished tied for fifth at the Las Vegas Regional where the Bucs defeated Northwestern in a playoff to secure the final spot to the NCAA Championship. In 2022, the Blue & Gold advanced out of the Columbus Regional, while ETSU won the Cle Elum Regional in 2021. Overall, the Bucs have appeared in 20 NCAA Championships in program history.
