JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 23, 2024) – The ETSU men's tennis team will return to action with home matches against Wofford on Sunday and Mercer on Tuesday. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
ETSU enters this week's action with an overall record of 4-9 on the 2024 season. The Bucs, however, are 1-0 in SoCon play with that win coming against UNC Greensboro on February 26. The remainder of ETSU's matches this spring will be against SoCon foes.
Wofford will bring a 7-7 overall record with it to Johnson City on Sunday. The Terriers are 2-1 in SoCon play so far this spring with victories against The Citadel and UNC Greensboro. Wofford has been a very different team at home compared to on the road this season as six of its seven wins have come in Spartanburg.
Mercer is currently 3-9 in 2024. The Bears, however, have picked up back-to-back wins in their last two matches with victories over Wofford and Georgia College.
The Buccaneers have held the edge historically against both the Terriers and Bears. ETSU is a combined 34-1 against Wofford and Mercer. The lone loss by the Bucs against their two opponents in the next few days came last season when the Bears outlasted ETSU, 4-3.
