CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 13, 2024) – The ETSU men's and women's track & field teams make their outdoor debut this weekend as the Buccaneers head to North Carolina for the Charlotte 49er Classic. The three-day event gets underway Thursday at Irwin Belk Track & Field Center.

Dates: March 14-16
Location: Irwin Belk Track & Field Center (Charlotte, N.C.)
Time: Thursday begins at 11 a.m. with the heptathlon and decathlon
                  Friday begins at 9 a.m.; Saturday at 10 a.m.

ABOUT THE BUCS
·      Brianna Baker and Eliza Ruch will be competing in the heptathlon on Thursday
·      ETSU will look to win the 1500m for the fourth straight year on the women's side … Genevieve Schwarz, who has graduated and is no longer competing, won it three straight years from 2021-23
·      Diana Romero-Barba looks to build upon her stellar indoor season in the pole vault where she finished second at the SoCon championships as well as tied the indoor record with a mark of 3.80, set on Feb. 9 at the Daris Dixon Memorial
·      Kiera Snyder won the 3000m here in Charlotte back in 2022
·      On the men's side, Evan Guzman looks to build off his strong finish from the SoCon Outdoor Championships last spring where he placed second in the 10000m and third in the 5000m
·      Myles Stoots took home bronze in the steeplechase at last year's SoCon Championship, while Miguel Parrilla won silver in the 800m
·      In the field events, Logan Wagner took home bronze in the shot put at last year's SoCon meet
 
UP NEXT
ETSU will head back to North Carolina for the Raleigh Relays, which will be held March 28-30.
