ASHEVILLE, N.C. (Feb. 8, 2024) – The ETSU men's tennis team will look for its third win in a row on Friday when it makes the short trip to take on UNC Asheville. First serve between the Buccaneers and Bulldogs is set for 1 p.m.
ETSU evened its record at 3-3 on the spring season with a 5-2 victory at Belmont last Saturday. The Bucs have now won three of their last four matches after starting the season 0-2. Individually, the Bucs have three players tied for the team-lead with three singles victories a piece in
Dimitri Badra,
Alberto Garcia and
Francisco Lamas. On the doubles side, the tandem of
Milledge Cossu and
Adam Nagoudi led the charge with a pair of wins.
UNC Asheville enters this week's action with a 3-1 record. The Bulldogs have picked up wins against Young Harris, Tusculum and Lenoir-Rhyne by identical 7-0 scores. Asheville's lone setback so far this spring came against Charlotte on January 21, 5-2.
Friday will mark the fourth straight season that the Bucs and Bulldogs have matched up. ETSU has won the previous three meetings by scores of 5-2, 6-1 and 5-2.
