JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 28, 2024) – The ETSU men's tennis team will return to the court on Thursday when it hosts Elon in non-conference action. First serve between the Buccaneers and Phoenix is set for 2 p.m.
 
ETSU is coming off a 6-1 win over UNC Greensboro on Monday. Monday's match was the first league match for the Bucs this season and the win improves ETSU's SoCon record to 57-2 since rejoining the conference in 2015. Dimitri Badra picked up a pair of wins for the Bucs against the Spartans and was named the SoCon Player of the Week on Tuesday. The Player of the Week honor is Badra's 13^th of his career which is the most of any player in conference history.
 
Elon is 5-4 on the season. The Phoenix are still looking for their first win away from home this season (5-0 at home, 0-4 on the road). Elon has victories over South Carolina State, UNC Asheville, Campbell, Gardner-Webb, and Hampton so far in 2024.
 
The Buccaneers are 6-0 all-time against Elon. Thursday's match will be the first meeting between the two programs since 2021 when ETSU came away with a 5-2 win at Elon. ETSU has won both of the matches contested in Johnson City by scores of 5-2 in 2019 and 6-1 in 2004.
