SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Nov. 6, 2024) – For the second time this fall season, ETSU's
Kristian Bressum earned a Southern Conference Golfer of the Week honor, as the league office announced on Wednesday its weekly award for competition from Oct. 30-Nov. 5.
Bressum led the Buccaneers in their final tournament of the fall season as the Buccaneer leader finished tied for eighth at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational, which was held Nov. 2-4 at Royal Ka'anapali Golf Course.
Bressum, who registered one eagle, 12 birdies and 39 pars, posted a 54-hole score of 11-under-par 202. The transfer from Saint Mary's opened the tournament with a 6-under-65 in round one on Saturday where he bagged five birdies and one eagle en route to sitting tied for fifth. Following a flawless round on Sunday, Bressum moved into second after totaling five birdies and 13 pars for a 5-under 66. Bressum finished the tournament with an even-par 71 to register his second top-10 finish of the season.
Bressum led the Bucs in four of their five fall tournaments, while he captured his first SoCon weekly honor after a sixth-place showing at the Windon Memorial Classic on Sept. 30.
Bressum and the Bucs are back in action on Feb. 3 when ETSU opens the spring campaign at Battle of Briar's Creek in Johns Island, S.C.
