BLACKSBURG, Va. (Nov. 3, 2024) – The ETSU men's tennis team closed out its final fall tournament schedule over the weekend at Virginia Tech's Dynamic Duo Tournament.
 
Overall, six Buccaneers took the court in the three-day tournament in Blacksburg. Facing off against student-athletes from schools like Purdue, VCU, Virginia Tech and fellow SoCon school Chattanooga, the Bucs held their own. Five of the six ETSU players tallied two or more singles wins on the weekend.
 
Carlos Gonzales paced the Bucs with three victories with wins over players from Radford, Virginia Tech and Purdue. Gonzales matched his win total from the entire fall up until this point during his stay in Blacksburg. In doubles, the tandem of Francisco Lamas and Martin Garcia-Ripoll continue to play well with two more wins to boost their fall record to 9-4.

Two Bucs will be back in action this week at the ITA Conference Masters Championship from Rome, Georgia. Francisco Lamas and Martin Garcia-Ripoll will compete in doubles at the event that is slated to run from November 7-10. This event will conclude the fall season for the men's tennis team.
