LAHAINA, Hawaii (Nov. 3, 2024) – ETSU's
Kristian Bressum remains in the hunt to capture his first collegiate win as the Buccaneer newcomer sits in second-place following Sunday's second round of the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate.
Bressum strung together a flawless round en route to firing a 5-under 66 on Sunday. The Saint Mary's transfer collected five birdies and 13 pars, moving to 11-under-par 131 through 36 holes. After beginning his day with a par on the par-4, 373-yard No. 4, Bressum birdied three straight holes and five of his next six to keep himself near the top of the leaderboard.
Bressum sits two shots off the lead, which is still held by Oklahoma's Jaxon Dowell at 13-under-par 129. Dowell carded a 5-under 66 in round two. With Bressum in second place, a group of three golfers are tied for third at 10-under-par 132.
For the second straight round, the Bucs shot below par; however, ETSU dropped four spots down the leaderboard into 11th place at 15-under-par 553. The Blue & Gold posted a 2-under-par 282 on Sunday.
Oklahoma continues to hold the team lead as the second-ranked Sooners are at 31-under-par 537. The Sooners shot an 11-under 273 on the day and lead Indiana and Kansas by five strokes.
Ben Carberry gave the Bucs a spark in round two as he shot a 3-under 68 to move 30 spots up the board into a tie for 44th at 2-under-par 140.
Monday's final round gets underway with a shotgun start at 2:30 p.m. ET.
