MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (Oct. 20, 2024) – The ETSU men's tennis team wrapped up play at the Middle Tennessee Invitational on Sunday afternoon. Over the course of three days of competition, the Bucs compiled nine wins against players from Tennessee Tech, Middle Tennessee State and Virginia Tech.
 
ETSU's best day came on Friday when it posted 5-1 record in four singles and two doubles matches against Tennessee Tech. On Saturday, the Bucs went 2-4 against host Middle Tennessee State and then closed the weekend with another 2-4 performance against the Hokies.
 
The doubles tandem of Francisco Lamas and Martin Garcia-Ripoll led the way for the Bucs going a perfect 3-0 in their three matches. In singles, all five Bucs that took the court in Murfreesboro picked up at least one win. Garcia-Ripoll, Lamas and Carlos Gonzales all tallied wins against the Golden Eagles, while Pedro Cressoni notched one against MTSU and Juan Andres Listo earned the lone singles victory on Sunday vs. Virginia Tech.

ETSU will return to action next weekend for another three-day tournament in the Elon Invitational. Play in Elon is set to begin Friday and will run through Sunday.
