ALPHARETTA, Ga. (Oct. 20, 2024) – ETSU's
Joshua Pritchett led the Buccaneer men's golf team at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate as final round play concluded on Sunday at the Golf Club of Georgia.
Pritchett, who played his final 36 holes at five-under, finished tied for 20th at 1-under-par 215. After shooting a 4-under 68 on Saturday, Pritchett carded a 1-under 71 in Sunday's finale. Pritchett finished Sunday's round with a lot of momentum as he bagged four birdies over his final nine holes to finish with the 71. This marked Pritchett's best collegiate finish.
Kristian Bressum also had a solid showing on Sunday as he paced the Blue & Gold in the final round with a 3-under 69. Overall, Bressum finished tied for 33rd at 1-over-par 217. Bressum, who has led the Bucs in their first three fall tournaments, birdied five of his final 12 holes to pencil in the 69 on his Sunday scorecard.
Duke's Ethan Evans rallied to capture medalist honors at 9-under-par 207. Evans posted a 1-under 71 and won by one stroke over Charlotte's Caden Baker. Baker finished with a 3-over 75 and ended with a 54-hole total of 8-under-par 208.
The 23rd-ranked Blue Devils made it a clean sweep as Duke went low on Sunday to jump two spots up the team leaderboard for the win. Duke shot 17-under 271 in the final round to finish at 28-under-par 836. UCLA finished runner-up at 25-under-par 839.
ETSU placed 10th at 5-over-par 869. The Blue & Gold, who finished ahead of No. 8 Tennessee, Washington, No. 22 Stanford and No. 16 Alabama, shot an even-par 288 on Sunday.
The field had eight teams that played in the 2024 NCAA Championship, six of which finished in the top 15, and three (Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Virginia) who advanced to match play. Eight teams are currently ranked in the top 25 of the Bushnell/Golfweek Coaches Poll.
The Bucs wrap up their fall season in two weeks when ETSU heads to Hawaii for the Ka'anapali Classic, which gets underway Saturday, Nov. 2.
