SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Jan. 16, 2024) – The Southern Conference announced that ETSU men's tennis player Francisco Lamas has been named the League's Men's Tennis Player of the Week. It marks the first weekly honor of Lamas' career.
 
Lamas accounted for ETSU's lone point in Monday's season opener at No. 15 Wake Forest. Lamas notched a win over Jamieson Nathan in three sets, 6-2, 6-7 (3-7), 1-0 (13-11) out of the No. 6 singles position.
 
As mentioned earlier, it marks the first weekly honor of Lamas' career. ETSU has now earned 42 SoCon Player of the Week honors in program history, the most of any school.
 
Lamas and the rest of the Bucs will be back in action on Wednesday when they travel to take on Vanderbilt at 1 p.m.
