The Buccaneers posted a 5-under-par 275 and sit in third-place following Friday's opener of the Visit Knoxville Collegiate, which is being held at Tennessee National.
Led by junior Algot Kleen (Fiskebackskil, Sweden) and redshirt freshman Jenson Forrester (Wolverhampton, England), the Blue & Gold sit just two shots off the lead. Tennessee, the tournament host, is the day one leader as the Vols carded a 7-under 273, while Mississippi State is in second-place at 6-under-par 274. Ole Miss (-3) and North Florida (E) rounded out the top-five teams.

From there, Kleen birdied three of his next four holes before ending with four straight pars to finish the afternoon. Forrester's first collegiate round was up-and-down as he totaled six birdies, eight pars and four bogeys; however, he finished strong. Sitting two-over through his first 10 holes, Forrester played the final eight holes at four-under en route to moving up the leaderboard. Forrester's six birdies were tied for the third-most of the round.
The field is chasing Ole Miss' Tom Fischer as his sits atop the leaderboard at 5-under-par 65.
