WOLCOTT, Colo. (Sept. 27, 2023) – ETSU junior Alex Crafton (Lake Mary, Fla.) posted a top-10 finish at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic as final round concluded on Wednesday at the Red Sky Golf Club – Fazio Course.
Crafton, who registered her second career top-10 finish, placed tied for sixth at even-par 216. The Lake Mary, Fla. native carded an even-par 72 in the final round. Crafton was three-under through her first eight and 13 holes, but finished with three bogeys down the stretch run to record the 72. This marks Crafton's first top-10 finish since finishing runner-up at the Grandover Fall Classic in 2021.
New Mexico State's Alison Gastelum earned medalist honors as she edged out Central Arkansas' Madison Holmes by one stroke. Gastelum, who shot 4-under 68 on Wednesday, finished the tournament at 7-under-par 209.
Pepperdine won the team event as the Waves finished even-par 864, while New Mexico State finished runner-up at 10-over-par 874.
The Bucs finished 12th at 46-over-par 910.
Freshman Brianna Castaldi (Port Saint Lucie, Fla.) finished tied for 25th after posting a 54-hole score of 8-over-par 224. Castaldi shot an even-par 72 in the final round.
ETSU gears up for its fall finale when they play in the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship, which will be held Oct. 15-17 in Knoxville.
