Women’s Golf Finishes Round Two at Golfweek Fall Challenge

ETSU enters the final day in ninth place

PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. (Sept. 11, 2023) – The ETSU women's golf team completed the second round of the Golfweek Fall Challenge at the Caledonia Golf & Fish Club in Pawley's Island, S.C. on Monday. 

ETSU posted a round two score of 296 (+12) so after a pair of rounds the Bucs have a score of 588 (+20) and are currently in ninth place. Brianna Castaldi (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) shot a 72 (+1) for the second straight day to pace the Bucs. Entering the final round on Tuesday, Castaldi is tied for ninth place. 

Lipscomb currently sits at the top of the team leaderboard after day two with a mark of 572 (+4). The Bisons also have the top individual golfer so far at the tournament in Lauren Thompson and her score of 139 (-3) through 36 holes. 

Castaldi was one of three Bulldogs to notch three or more birdies on Monday. Madeline Simcox (Bristol, Tenn.) birdied a team-high four holes on the day, while Castaldi and Grace Chin (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) both accounted for three. Furthermore, Alex Crafton (Lake Mary, Fla.) turned in a solid performance on the front nine parring eight of the nine holes and picking up a birdie on the ninth. 

ETSU will conclude play in South Carolina with one more round on Tuesday.
