SPARTANBURG, S.C. (April 5, 2023) – ETSU sophomore Tya Blake (Lynchburg, Va.) was named Southern Conference Field Athlete of the Week as the league office announced its weekly awards on Wednesday.

Blake, who collected her second career SoCon honor, set a season-best in the triple jump last Saturday at the VertKlasse Meeting. The Lynchburg, Va. native posted a mark of 11.68m, finishing 13th in a field of 30 athletes.

Blake’s mark tops all SoCon athletes this outdoor season.

The Bucs are back in action this weekend as ETSU heads to Knoxville for the Tennessee Invitational, which gets underway Thursday night.
