TULSA, Okla. (Oct. 4, 2023) – The ETSU men's tennis team recently closed out play at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Buccaneer duo of Dimitri Badra and Francisco Lamas wrapped up play on Wednesday.
 
Play in Tulsa began on Saturday with pre-qualifying in both singles and doubles. Lamas played in the pre-qualifying draw and dropped a pair of tilts to players from Florida State and Florida. Badra, meanwhile, competed in the qualifying bracket where he dropped matches to Baylor's Oskar Brostrom Poulsen and VCU's Matisse Bobichon.
 
In doubles, the tandem of Badra and Lamas picked up a pair of victories in the qualifying draw. First, Badra and Lamas outlasted a team from New Mexico before defeating a duo from Princeton. Badra and Lamas' run came to an end on Tuesday as Gonzaga's Sasha Trkulja and Matthew Hollingworth advanced to the main draw with a win by scores of 6-3, 6-3. Badra and Lamas were picked to participate in the main draw in doubles where they lost to teams from Virginia Tech and TCU.

ETSU will resume its fall season on October 12 when it competes in the four-day ITA Regionals in Chattanooga.
