SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Oct. 18, 2023) – After securing his second collegiate win last weekend in Georgia, ETSU junior Algot Kleen captured Southern Conference Golfer of the Week honors as the league office announce the weekly award on Wednesday. 
 
Kleen won the prestigious Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate over the weekend after posting a 54-hole score of 11-under-par 205. The Fiskebackskil, Sweden native generated three consecutive sub-par rounds en route to claiming his second career win in the Blue & Gold. Kleen began the tournament with a 5-under 67 on Friday, finished with a 4-under 68 in round two and posted a 2-under 70 in Sunday's final round. 
 
Kleen, who earned his third career SoCon Golfer of the Week honor, led the tournament in birdies (17) and par-4 scoring (-10).
 
The tournament field featured six teams ranked in the top-25 and nine in the top-50 nationally. Following the Bucs' third-place finish in Georgia, ETSU jumped to No. 8 in the national rankings. 
 
Kleen and the Bucs conclude their fall season next weekend when they travel to Hawaii for the Ka'anapali Classic, which begins Thursday, Oct. 26.
