KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (Oct. 16, 2023) – The ETSU women's golf team completed second round play at the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate on Monday at the Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville.
Brianna Castaldi continues to pace the Blue & Gold as she's tied for 35th at 5-over-par 147. Castaldi and
Sophie Bert both posted a 2-over 73 on Monday.
As a team, ETSU continues to sit in 14th place at 38-over-par 606. The Bucs carded a 16-over 300 on Monday.
With not one team in the field registering a team score below par on Monday, No. 16 UCF continues to hold the lead. UCF posted a 7-over 291 on Monday and sits 6-under-par 562 for the tournament.
UCF carries a seven-shot lead into Tuesday's final round as No. 8 Ole Miss was one of three teams to shoot 1-over 285 in second round action. Ole Miss is at 1-over-par 569 through the first two days of competition. No. 26 Pepperdine sits in third at 4-over-par 572.
UCF's Molly Smith continues to be the individual leader after recorded a 1-under 70 on Monday. Through 36 holes, Smith is 6-under-par 136 and carries a one-stroke lead into the final round. Tennessee's Manassanan Chotikabhukkana went low on Monday with a 4-under 67 and moved to 5-under-par 137 for the tournament.
ETSU will be paired with Chattanooga and a group of individuals in Tuesday's finale. Teams go out with a shotgun start at 9:15 a.m.
