ALPHARETTA, Ga. (Oct. 14, 2023) – The No. 11 ETSU men's golf team doubled its lead following Saturday's second round play at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate. 
 
The Buccaneers, who posted a 4-under 284 in round two, saw their three-shot advantage grow to six strokes as ETSU sits atop the leaderboard at 17-under-par 559 following two rounds of competition from the Golf Club of Georgia Lakeside Course.  
 
ETSU leads the field that consists of five other teams ranked in the top-25 and eight others ranked in the top-50. No. 7 Washington went low on Saturday at 7-under 281 and moved up five spots into second-place at 11-under-par 565. Tournament host and No. 12 Georgia Tech is in third at 10-under-par 566. 
 
The Bucs were one of five teams to shot below par on Saturday. 
 
Algot Kleen continues to hold a share of the individual lead after carding a 4-under 68 on Saturday. Kleen is tied with Charlotte's Conor Gough at 9-under-par 135. Kleen generated three straight birdies from No. 7-9 and picked up his fifth of the day on the par-5, 607-yard No. 11. The Buccaneer junior finished strong as he birdied two of his final five holes to stay in the lead. 
 
Mats Ege remains in the hunt as he sits three shots back in sole possession of fifth place at 6-under-par 138. Ege recorded a 2-under 70 on Saturday. The Buccaneer leader registered three birdies, four pars and two bogeys each on the front and back nine in round two. 
 
ETSU's other two countable scores came from Jenson Forrester and Archie Davies. The pair of Bucs finished at 1-over 73 in round two. Davies is tied for 21st at 1-under-par 143, while Forrester is tied for 43rd at 3-over-par 147. Remi Chartier, who finished at 2-over 74 on Saturday, is tied for 28th at even-par 144. 
 
The Bucs will be grouped with Washington and Georgia Tech in Sunday's final round. ETSU goes out from No. 1 starting at 10:20 a.m.
