Martin Garcia-Ripoll recently wrapped up his first season as an assistant coach for the Bucs in 2026 after playing for the team the year before. Garcia-Ripoll's first season helping coach the Bucs featured the team getting as high as No. 60 in the ITA National Polls, a school record 21 consecutive wins, two All-SoCon players, and a SoCon Regular Season Championship.Â
As a player for ETSU in 2025, Garcia-Ripoll went 10-7 in singles action and combined with Peter Kalocsai to go 7-12 in doubles. He was one of five Bucs to earn 10 or more singles victories in 2025. Four of his 10 singles wins came in SoCon play, while the tandem of Garcia-Ripoll and Kalocsai went 3-3 in doubles. For his play all season long, Garcia-Ripoll was named to the All-SoCon Second Team in both singles and doubles at the conclusion of the regular season.Â
Garcia-Ripoll came to ETSU after spending the previous two seasons at Lamar University. During his time with the Cardinals, the native of Spain earned All-WAC honors in both singles and doubles and was named to the Southland's All-Tournament Team as well. Was a member of a Lamar team that captured the regular season championship in the WAC and reached the conference tournament championship match. His top season came in 2022 where he compiled a 16-5 record in singles to go with a 17-5 mark in doubles.
