Canyon McWilliams is entering his first year on staff with the Buccaneers.

For the last three seasons, he served on the coaching staff at Ohio University, working closely with hitters, baserunners, and catchers. While there, he also held the roles of First Base Coach and Mental Game Coordinator, helping players sharpen both their mechanics and their mindset.  Canyon worked closely with the 2025 Bobcat offense, which made steep improvements in Conf. AVG, OPS, Home Runs and Doubles from the 2024 season. 

Before transitioning into coaching, Canyon was a standout first baseman at Arkansas-Little Rock (DI) in 2021 and 2022.  His collegiate playing career also included time as a two-way player (1B/LHP) at Ohio Wesleyan University (2018–2020) and at Florida Southern College in 2017.

A native of Shaker Heights, OH, Canyon graduated with a Bachelors in Mathematics and Statistics from Ohio Wesleyan University, as well as a Masters in Sports Management from the University of Arkansas - Little Rock. 

Canyon married his wife, Jess McWilliams, in August of 2025.
