2021 Track & Field: Competed in seven meets in the 2021 season...produced his best indoor performance at the SoCon Indoor Championships (Feb. 27-28), placing fourth in the weight throw with a PR of 15.65m while just missing out on a scoring mark in the shot put, placing ninth with a personal best toss of 13.28m...set a PR in his outdoor debut in the hammer throw, tossing for 36.59m at the Charlotte 49er Classic (March 19-20)...set another PR, this time in the discus, at the High Point Vertklasse Meeting (April 1-2) with a throw of 38.55m...grabbed his second win of his career, and the second straight gold medal performance in the javelin throw at the Catamount Classic (April 16-17) with a personal record toss of 52.52m...capped off the season with a fourth place effort at the SoCon Outdoor Championships (May 1-2) with a 51.83m toss in the javelin…named to the SoCon Honor Roll, SoCon All-Academic Team and was awarded the Commissioner’s Medal.

2020 Track & Field*: Opened his sophomore season at the 2020 ETSU Track and Field Invitational (Jan. 10-11) with marks of 12.54m and 12.34m in the weight throw and shot put…competed at the 2020 VMI Team Challenge (Jan. 25) in the shot put and weight throw with marks of 11.80m and 13.67m…participated at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invite (Feb 14-15) with marks of 13.52m and 12.71m in the weight throw and shot put…participated at the SoCon Indoor Championships (Feb. 29-Mar 1) with marks of 14.32m and 13.18m in the weight throw and shot put...member of the 2019-20 SoCon Honor Roll...received a nod to the SoCon Spring All-Academic Team...recipient of the SoCon Commissioner’s Medal.

2019 Track & Field: Appeared in six indoor meets…placed second in the Gamecock Inaugural (Jan. 18-19) with a jump of 1.93m in the high jump…scored for the Bucs in the SoCon Indoor Championships (Feb. 23-24) in the high jump at 1.90m…had a season-best meet at the Catamount Classic (April 12-13) with a first place, personal record of 49.01m throw in the javelin, a 37.80m toss in the discus for a personal best and an eighth place finish and an eighth place finish in the high jump…set a PR of 1.93m in the high jump for an eighth place finish at the SoCon Outdoor Championships (April 27-28) while scoring sixth in the javelin throw…earned a spot on the SoCon Honor Roll…a recipient of the SoCon Commissioner’s Medal… made an appearance on the Outdoor All-Freshman Team.

Prior to ETSU: Attended nearby Daniel Boone High School in Gray, Tennessee … A three-sport athlete, Shelton lettered in track and field, football and basketball … Participated in the high jump and javelin events at DBHS, earning all-state honors in the high jump in 2016 and 2017 … Holds a 6’6” (1.98m) PR in the high jump … Was named the Trailblazers’ offensive player of the year as Daniel Boone’s quarterback in 2017 … Started at center on the basketball team.
