Biography

2021-22 (R-Senior): Polished off his playing career as one of the most decorative players in program history … Earned a spot on the SoCon Singles First Team for the third consecutive season … Finished his final season with a 22-10 singles record, including 15-6 in dual play … Recorded an 11-2 record in the No. 3 slot during the spring campaign … Posted an 18-11 record in doubles play, including 14-7 in dual matches … Clinched five doubles points on the year and four matches for the Blue & Gold.

2020-21 (Senior): Named to the First Team All-SoCon Singles squad … Claimed SoCon Men’s Tennis Player of the Week on March 15 … Posted the second-most singles wins with 11, finishing 11-7 on the season … Did the majority of his damage in the No. 2 slot with a 10-4 record … Finished 5-1 in SoCon play in singles action … Led the Bucs in match-clinching victories with four, including the first three victories of the season over UNCG, Radford and Wofford … Clinched the match against Samford, allowing the Bucs to claim the Regular Season Southern Conference Championship … Compiled an 8-10 overall record in doubles play, including 8-6 when playing alongside teammate Juan Lugo.

2019-20 (Junior)*: Awarded back-to-back SoCon Player of the Week awards (March 3 & 10) … Following a tough start to singles play, Rengifo ended the spring on a four-match winning streak to bump his record to 6-5 in singles action, including 6-3 in the No. 2 position … Recorded one match-clinching singles win in the season finale against No. 46 Clemson, downing the Tigers 4-1 before the spring was halted … Finished 4-5 in doubles play in the spring, including 4-4 when paired with Chris Mikrovas … Capped off the fall season with a 5-5 singles mark and a 2-3 doubles tally.

2018-19 (Sophomore): Named to the All-SoCon First Team following a dominating sophomore season in which he finished 18-3 in singles play and 13-8 in doubles action … Earned five SoCon Player of the Week honors, becoming the first player in SoCon history to claim five men’s tennis player of the week honors …  On April 4th, Rengifo was named SoCon Player of the Month … Tallied three match-clinching victories, including back-to-back victories to lead the Bucs over Furman and Samford … Compiled a fall record of 8-3 in singles play and 5-3 in doubles action.

2017-18 (Freshman): Helped guide the Bucs to the 2018 Southern Conference Championship.

Previous Tennis Achievements: Sudamericano for 12 years, Forianapolos, Brazil in 2011 … Subamericano for 14 years, Lima, Peru in 2013 … ITF ranking of #450 … ATP ranking of #1504 … UTR of 13.4.

Personal: Born January 19, 1999 in Cali, Colombia … Son of Francier Rengifo and Maria Yeimmy Caracas … Majoring in Business Management … Chose ETSU to achieve his dreams of becoming a professional tennis player.
