JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 7, 2011) - Several members and coaches of the men’s and women’s track and field teams spent their Labor Day volunteering at the Barberitos Fall Triathlon at the Legion Street Pool in Johnson City, Tenn.

“Our athletes had a great time helping with this event, and we were happy to serve the community in this way,” said ETSU assistant coach Eli Sunquist.

The event was put on by the Tri Cities Triathlon Club and featured 91 participants from a variety of age groups. Members of the track and field team helped with various tasks including race setup, race management and post race cleanup.

The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics takes pride in its community service activities and strives for 100 percent participation from its student-athletes, coaches and administrators throughout the year.
