Track Team Competes in Tennessee Indoor Invitational

Knoxville, Tenn. (February 15, 2002) - East Tennessee State's track and field team took part in the Tennessee Indoor Invitational at the Stokely Athletic Center hosted by the University of Tennessee. The Bucs earned several top-10 finishes along the way. The women performed well in the field events. Cheryl Howard (Wyalusing, Pa.) jumped 5' 1" to earn fifth place in the high jump. In the long jump, Kristin Truman (Johnson City, Tenn.) finished in seventh with a jump of 16' 7.25" while Brooke Deacon (Newtown, Pa.) jumped 16' 1" to finish in eighth spot. The men also finished well in the field events. Charvin Clark (Ellenwood, Ga.) jumped 23' 7.5" to earn a fourth-place finish in the long jump. In the shot put, Josh Artau (Hatboro, Pa.) threw for 45' 10.75" to finish in ninth. Adam Woods (Knoxville, Tenn.) took fourth place in the pole vault (13' 5.25"). On February 22, East Tennessee State hosts the Southern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Memorial Center.
