Tennis continues A-Sun play, looks to remain unbeaten in March

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (March 20, 2014) - The ETSU men's and women's tennis teams will continue conference play this weekend as they take on Northern Kentucky Friday, March 21 and Lipscomb Saturday, March 22.
Friday, March 21
ETSU men vs. NKU at 11:00 a.m.
ETSU women vs. NKU at approximately 2:00 p.m.
Saturday March 22
ETSU men vs. Lipscomb at 10:00 a.m.
ETSU women vs. Lipscomb at approximately 2:00 p.m.
The Buccaneers (7-8, 2-0) will enter the weekend riding a four-match win streak, including a convincing 7-0 win over Stetson and 6-1 win over Appalachian State.
In its last three matches, ETSU has won 15 of 18 singles matches.
Senior Roger Ordeig (Gurb, Spain) and sophomore Sebastian Yllera (Cinco Saltos, Argentina) are each enjoying a team-best four-match win streak in singles play.
Meanwhile, freshmen David Biosca (Sant Fruitos De Bage, Spain) and Diego Nunez (Monterrey, Mexico) are ranked No. 105 and N0. 124, respectively, in the ITA singles rankings.
The NKU Norse (4-5, 0-2) opened league play last weekend with a pair of losses, falling to Kennesaw State, 7-0, and Mercer, 5-2.
Lipscomb opened league play with a split, knocking off Mercer, 4-3, before losing to Kennesaw State, 6-1. Prior to beating Mercer, the Bisons (2-8, 1-1) had lost six consecutive matches.
Like the men's squad, the ETSU women's team will enter the weekend enjoying a win streak, with the Buccaneers (6-7, 2-0) having notched victories in their last three matches, including a road win over No. 62 College of Charleston.
After going unbeaten in singles play last weekend, senior Giulia Andreazza (Balneario Camboriu, Brazil) was named Atlantic Sun Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
Senior Salma Dahbi (Marrekech, Morocco) and junior Jessica Brumit (Elizabethton, Tenn.) are each 7-2 in their last nine singles matches.
The NKU Norse (5-6, 0-2) will enter the weekend on a three-match loss streak, including conference-opening setbacks to Kennesaw State, 7-0, and Mercer, 5-2.
The Lipscomb Bisons (7-5, 1-1) suffered a 4-2 setback to Mercer to open A-Sun competition, before knocking off Kennesaw State, 5-2.
