Women's tennis welcomes in Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson this weekend

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Mar. 24, 2011) - One week after earning crucial conference victories over Campbell and USC Upstate, the ETSU women's tennis team returns home for conference play as they host Florida Gulf Coast and Stetson, Friday and Saturday at the Buddy Hartsell Tennis Center.
ETSU will first take on Florida Gulf Coast, Friday at 2:30 p.m., before closing out the weekend against Stetson on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
Last weekend, the Bucs handed Campbell its first conference defeat of the season, before also defeating USC Upstate.
The Bucs enter the weekend with an 8-6 overall record and a 5-1 mark in A-Sun play. ETSU now sits in a four way tied atop the A-Sun standings with Stetson, UNF, and Campbell. Each team has just one loss in league play.
Senior Andra Voinea (Brasov, Romania) currently leads the Bucs in singles play with an impressive 10-3 overall dual record that includes a perfect 6-0 mark in A-Sun play. In addition, Voinea has won eight of her last ten singles matches.
Florida Gulf Coast heads into the weekend with a 9-5 overall record and a 4-3 mark in A-Sun play. The Eagles are also currently riding a five match winning streak. Morgan Bechtel leads FGCU with a 10-4 overall record and a 6-1 league mark, while playing in a variety of positions in the lineup during the season.
Stetson comes into the weekend with an impressive 15-1 overall mark and a 6-1 conference record. The Hatters are led by Lindsey Cable, Carolina de los Santos, Unnati Purushotham, and MayaBlue Stauffer-MacDowell as each player has recorded 13 victories each.
