Women's tennis closes out USC Upstate Invitational with titles

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Sept. 19, 2010) - ETSU senior Kelly Holtzhausen (Johannesburg, South Africa) and junior Paula Jamie (Madrid, Spain) were co-champions in the A flight singles bracket to lead the Bucs at the USC Upstate Invitational on Sunday afternoon.
 
Holtzhausen defeated Vera Shkundina of conference rival Kennesaw State in the final 6-2, 7-6. Jaime also picked up a victory on Sunday as she defeated Lisa Sutton of conference foe Campbell, 6-3, 6-2.
 
ETSU also picked up a title in the B flight singles bracket as senior Andra Voinea (Brasov, Romania) knocked off Cara Carusso of Presbyterian, 6-2, 6-0.
 
The impressive play for the Bucs at the USC Upstate Invitational comes just a day after ETSU earned multiple titles at the ETSU Invitational.
