ASHEVILLE, N.C.  (Sept. 20, 2009) - Led by junior Diana Navroskaya (Kviv, Ukraine) the ETSU women's tennis team closed out the first annual UNC Asheville Fall Classic with three victories Sunday at the Crown Plaza Tennis Center.

Overall, Navroskaya was part of all three Lady Buc wins on the day. Individually, the ETSU newcomer picked up straight set singles wins over UNC Asheville junior Stephanie Schons, 6-2, 6-2 and Tennessee Tech freshman Levdi Zora, 6-4, 6-3.

In addition to her head-to-head wins Navroskaya, with junior teammate Tara Sheets (Gate City, Va.) rolled in their only doubles contest with a strong 8-4 victory over the Tennessee Tech team of Laura Porras and Zora, 8-4. With their three wins over the field this weekend Sheets and Navroskaya remain unbeaten in doubles action this fall.

"Overall, we had a pretty good tournament," said head coach Steve Brooks. "Diana tied for the most victories with Asheville senior Leslie Smith, so that should definitely help her confidence as we move forward."

Unfortunately for the Lady Bucs, sophomore Jessica Ratliff (Bristol, Tenn.) and freshman Kelby Marston (Erwin, Tenn.), fell in their three remaining contests.

The Lady Bucs return to action at the Troy Invitational next weekend. For more information the championship ETSU women's tennis team please visit ETSUBucs.com.
