ETSU's Knight named SoCon Women's Tennis Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Feb. 15, 2005) - Sandie Knight from East Tennessee State has been named the SoCon Women's Tennis Player of the Week for all matches through Feb. 15.

            Knight, a junior from Adamstown, Australia, led the Buccanners to a 5-2 record to start the 2005 season. Knight is 5-1 in singles and is currently on a four-match winning streak, winning all four matches in straight sets. Playing at the number two and four positions, Knight's 6-4, 6-4 win over Jessica Long of Virginia Tech clinched the Bucs' 4-3 win on February 6.

            East Tennessee State will be back on the courts Friday, February 25 as it hosts Elon at 1:00 p.m.
