Women's Tennis Falls to Memphis, 5-2

Johnson City, Tenn. -- The East Tennessee State women's tennis team fell to the University of Memphis, 5-2 Saturday evening from Memphis, Tenn.

ETSU picked up the first two singles wins as Paty Vega defeated Christina Ladyman at No. 1 6-3, 6-2 and Mami Inoue defeated Sabrina Lindeman 6-1, 7-5 at No. 2. Memphis won the final four matches as Jessica Irey, Cara Prupas, Tatiana Arrarian and Susan Torbett fell in straight set.

Memphis picked up the doubles point after winning two of three doubles matches. Vega and Inoue defeated Ladyman and Lindemann, 8-6. Prupas and Villavicencio fell to Card and Westberg, 8-1. In the final doubles match, Irey and Arrarian were defeated by Rao and Garner, 8-3.

The Buccaneers return to action Wednesday, March 28 as they travel to Tennessee Tech.
