SPARTANBURG, S.C. (Oct. 24, 2010) - Senior Terri Miller's (Cape Coral, Fla.) overtime goal lifted the ETSU women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over USC Upstate Sunday afternoon at County University Soccer Stadium in Spartanburg, S.C.

"This was a good result for our program as this win puts us back in postseason play for the fourth time in the last five years," said head coach Heather Henson. "The players continued to fight and work to get into the conference tournament. I am very proud of this team as they again showed the ability to play hard from start to finish. We had players step up and play different positions due to injury. Now we need to look to get healthy as we will face a good Kennesaw State team."

With the win, the Bucs (8-7-2, 4-5-1 A-Sun) now have 13 points in the Atlantic Sun and have clinched the fifth seed in the A-Sun tournament. ETSU outshot USC Upstate (3-13-2, 1-7-2 A-Sun) 13-5 in the contest as the Bucs had a 6-0 edge in corners.

Keeper Megan Masch (Virginia Beach, Va.) poster her fourth shutout of the season making three saves in the contest.

Later in the second half, senior Kelly Brinkman (Clearwater, Fla.) had the best look for the Buccaneers in regulation as she forced Upstate's Rachel Collins to make a save.

It did not take ETSU long to net a game-winner in overtime as Miller collected a pass from Brinkman and blasted a shot from the top of the box to the near post past Collins into the net in the 92nd minute. The goal was Miller's sixth of the season and her second game-winner.

The Buccaneers are back in action next weekend as they head to Kennesaw State for the first round of the A-Sun tournament.
