JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 14, 2010) -
With the conference season winding down, the ETSU women's soccer team is set to head to Mercer and Kennesaw State this weekend as the Bucs look to secure a spot in the Atlantic Sun tournament.

The Bucs face Mercer Friday at 7 p.m. in Macon, Ga. before closing out the weekend on Sunday at 1 p.m. against the Owls.

ETSU (7-6-1, 3-4-0 A-Sun) split a pair of A-Sun contest last weekend defeating Stetson 2-1 after dropping a hard fought 1-0 decision to Florida Gulf Coast. Junior Megan Masch (Virginia Beach, Va.) came up with a great save in the final minute of the contest on a Hatter penalty kick to preserve the win.

The Bucs are 1-3-1 all-time against the Bears with the only win coming in 2005, while ETSU is 2-4-0 all-time against KSU after upsetting the Owls at home a year ago.

Mercer (7-4-1, 4-0-1 A-Sun) comes into the contest having gone 2-3 in its last five games. The Bears defeated Campbell last weekend 2-1, but dropped matches against FGCU and Stetson the previous weekend. Kacie Hudson leads the way for Mercer as she is tied for seventh in the A-Sun in goals with five.

Kennesaw State (6-7-0, 3-2-0 A-Sun) has also gone 2-3 in its last five contests. The Owls had similar results to Mercer defeating Campbell 2-0 after losses to FGCU and Stetson. KSU is led by Alyssa Mahan as she currently ranks fourth in the conference in assists (6) and sixth in points (14).
