MACON, Ga. (Oct. 30, 2009) - For the fourth time in her career senior forward Jordan Monty (Mesquite, Texas), earned a postseason award from the Atlantic Sun Conference as the Mesquite, Texas native was named the 2009 A-Sun All-Conference First-team the league announced Friday morning.

 

            "I'm very proud of Jordan for her being honored this way by our league," said head coach Heather Henson. "It's nice to see her get the respect she has gotten by the other A-Sun coaches for her skills and ability. For the past four seasons I know every coach has prepared for her and yet year-in-year-out, Jordan was able to peform at the top of game everytime we went out and played."

 

            Monty finished the 2009 campaign as the team leader in goals (4), assists (5) and points (14). The three-time A-Sun Second-team member and 2006 A-Sun Freshman of the Year finished the season ranked seventh among conference players in shots (40), eigth in shots per game (2.22) and 10th in assists.

 

            In conference only matches Monty finished ninth in points (9), points per game (0.90), while being third in assists (5).

 

            Overall, Monty closed out her Bucanneer career with 10 game-winning goals, while ranking second in career goals (27), career assists (15), career points (70), in addition to setting the all-time school record in shots with 206.
