Women's soccer heads to Kennesaw State and Mercer for a pair of pivotal league matches this weekend
Brinkman Thursday, October 16, 2008 The Bucs (5-6-1, A-Sun 3-2-1) have had strong performances in its last three A-Sun contests, defeating Belmont and USC Upstate, before battling Campbell to a scoreless tie last Saturday. Overall, ETSU sits in second-place among league teams with 10 points, three points behind Mercer. Individually, sophomore midfielder Kelly Brinkman ( Mercer (7-4-3, A-Sun 4-1-1) sits atop the league standings, winning three of its last four contests. After sweeping both Lipscomb and Belmont, Mercer welcomes ETSU to Bear Field boasting one of the top defenses in the nation. After not allowing a goal last weekend, Mercer and goalkeeper Jean Worts now ranks 15th in the nation in total defense, allowing an incredible 0.548 goals against average on the season.
