ETSU women's soccer offers special promotion for this Friday's match

(September 3, 2008) -The ETSU women's soccer team, along with the ETSU athletic marketing and promotions department, is proud to announce that all youth soccer players and teams that attend this Friday's match between the Bucs and in-state rival Vanderbilt, at Summers-Taylor Stadium, and wear their team jerseys will receive free admission.

 

Along with the Tri-Cites Baptist Church and its Upward Athletic program, this event will help raise awareness and promote the benefits of playing youth soccer. September, which is known as "Youth Soccer Month," by the United States Youth Soccer Association (US Youth Soccer), offers an emphasize on soccer as the number one youth participation sport in America and leading contributor to the healthy lifestyle of millions of American families.

 

ETSU's athletic department and the women's soccer team encourages all Upward and youth soccer teams and players to come out to this event and join us in micro soccer games on the field after the game. This is a great way for teams and players to interact with both new teams and the ETSU women's soccer players and coaches.

 

"Overall, this will be an exciting day for everyone," said ETSU athletic marketing and promotions coordinator Sara Hacker. "This is a great opportunity for our collegiate athletes to give back to the community and for these young children to begin their vision of playing soccer and to dream blue."

 

Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m., and as always the women's soccer team will be available for autographs following the game on the south end of the stadium.
