Monty named A-Sun Player of the Week

MACON, Ga. (October 2, 2006) - ETSU's Jordan Monty (Dallas, Texas), a freshman on the Bucs soccer team, was named the A-Sun women's soccer Player of the Week. ETSU downed conference opponents North Florida and Jacksonville by identical 4-1 scores.

 

Monty scored a pair of second half goals to end a brief UNF rally in Thursday night's 4-1 win.  Heading into that match, UNF had allowed only four goals in their previous eight matches and no player had found the back of the net twice against the Ospreys. 

 

On Saturday, Monty provided the game-winner in the 23rd minute to hand ETSU their first two-match win streak of the season.  The forward leads the Bucs with six goals during her rookie campaign.  

 

ETSU continues conference play at home as they prepare to take on the Kennesaw State Owls Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7:00 p.m.
