JOHNSON CITY, TENN (September 6, 2005) - The Atlantic Sun Conference announced on Tuesday that East Tennessee State University senior Erin Ashton (New Bern, N.C.) has been named the A-Sun Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of August 30-September 6. It marks the first time an ETSU student athlete has been honored with an Atlantic Sun Conference award since the Bucs joined the league on July 1.

 

Ashton, a 5-foot-6 midfielder, scored two goals and had two assists for the Lady Bucs last week in games against Middle Tennessee State and Alabama A&M. She is the program's career leader in goals (26) and assists (18).  Ashton also holds the program record for points with 70. The Lady Bucs currently have a 1-2-0 record.

 

The ETSU women's soccer team will host Radford in their home opener this Friday, Sept. 9th at 7 p.m. at the Liberty Bell Soccer Complex.
